• Friday, September 10, 2010. Stand Up To Cancer One-Hour Broadcast at 8 p.m. / 7 p.m. Central on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, HBO, and other channels. ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc. is helping publicize this event. Volunteers from the ThyCa Los Angeles Support Group will represent ThyCa at this event, wearing Thyroid Cancer Awareness Shirts as part of Thyroid Cancer Awareness Month.
  
  
• Friday, October 1 (evening) through Sunday, October 3 (afternoon), 2010. Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. Thyroid Cancer Skills for Healing Retreat. Free weekend support group for people affected by thyroid cancer. With Rob Rutledge, M.D. , FRCPC, Radiation Oncologist, Dalhousie University and Nova Scotia Cancer Centre, and Tim Walker, Ph.D., Eastwind Stress Reduction. Learn about cancer care including diet / complementary Rx, stress reduction techniques, the body-mind-spirit connection, meditation, relaxation, and group discussions. Free for people with a diagnosis of thyroid cancer and an accompanying family member or caregiver. Travel and accommodation not included. $80 deposit.
