Newfoundland and Labrador, Canada, Support Group for Thyroid Cancer Survivors and Caregivers Begins Meeting (04/09)

ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors’ Association, Inc., welcomes the Newfoundland and Labrador Support Group in Canada. The group’s first meeting will be held on April 25, 2009 with Joanie Bruce as the group’s volunteer Facilitator. Meetings will be held on the fourth Saturday of each month from 10:30 am - Noon.

You’re cordially invited to contact the group facilitator and attend meetings, or simply show up at Eastern Health in St. John’s, Newfoundland, where the monthly meetings will be held. The group’s web page is www.thyca.org/sg/nf-lab.htm and the e-mail is nf-lab@thyca.org.

At local support group meetings, you have the opportunity to meet and talk with others in your community face to face. The participants share their experiences, strength, and hope. You learn more about your community’s health care resources. You experience camaraderie and connections with others who live near you and are also coping with thyroid cancer.

Family members and friends are welcome to attend.
