Meets: The Madison, WI Support Group meets the second Saturday of every month from 2:00 to 3:30 PM. The first meeting will be September 11.

Park in the main parking ramp. The Information Desk near the Hospital Entrance (between the "D" and "F" Elevators) will validate your parking ticket.

Enter the UW Hospital through the Hospital Entrance and follow the "Main Street" to the "K" Elevators; take them to the 1st Floor. Proceed down the hall to the WIMR Building and take the WIMR Elevators to the 5th Floor. The Conference Room is straight ahead.

Other: Physician Guest: Juan C. Jaume, M.D., Endocrinologist, will be a guest attendee at the September 11 meeting of the ThyCa Madison, Wisconsin, Support Group. Dr. Jaume is an Endocrinologist at the University of Wisconsin Hospital and Clinics, and a faculty member at the University of Wisconsin School of Medicine and Public Health. He also directs the Thyroid Fine Needle Aspiration Clinic and conducts research on tumor immunity in thyroid cancer. He graduated from the University of Buenos Aires School of Medicine, Argentina, and completed further training at State University of New York, Stonybrook, NY; Albert Einstein College of Medicine, Bronx, NY; and University of California, San Francisco.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 15-17, 2010, you are cordially invited to the 13th International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference, at the Sheraton Grand Hotel DFW Airport, 4440 West John Carpenter Freeway, Irving, Texas, near Dallas. This event is sponsored by ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc.

Thyroid cancer specialists from around the country will speak and answer questions about thyroid cancer care and research. The weekend also features speakers and roundtables on skills for coping with thyroid cancer. This educational and supportive conference is for people at all phases of testing, treatment, and follow-up for thyroid cancer, as well as caregivers, friends, health care professionals, and anyone interested in thyroid cancer. Scholarships to cover the registration fee are available on request. Walk-in attendees are welcome.
