Survey about Thyroid Cancer Surgery and the Voice —
Invitation and Link

Dear Friend,

If you have had thyroid cancer surgery, you're invited to take part in this online survey about Thyroid Cancer Surgery and the Voice.

ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc. is helping ThyCa Medical Advisor David Myssiorek, M.D., study research team leader. This is not a new survey. We've reopened the survey to invite additional participation beyond the more than 2,600 people who have already responded.

Please complete this online survey form. It takes just a few minutes. Your information will remain confidential.

If you have already completed the form, you will receive a thank you rather than opening the first page of the survey. So, please click on the link, and take part if you haven't already.

The survey results will be presented at an international meeting of medical professionals, as well as at the International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference.

This is a chance for all of us to advance knowledge and to impact our care going forward.

Thank you in advance for your participation. Together, we are helping to improve care for people with thyroid cancer.

Wishing you well with your health,

ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc.

P.S. If you have questions, please e-mail outreach@thyca.org.

More background:

  1. Topic: Patients' Voices After Thyroid Cancer Surgery: Whether Voices Stay the Same, or Change, and How
  2. Survey Team Leader: David Myssiorek, M.D., Otolaryngologist, New York University Clinical Cancer Center, New York, NY, and Medical Advisor, ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc.
  3. Reason for the Survey: It is known that some patients' voices stay the same after thyroid cancer surgery. Other patients experience vocal changes.

More knowledge about what patients have experienced, including patients whose voices stayed the same and those who experienced vocal changes, will be helpful in improving care.

The research team led by Dr. Myssiorek is studying the the experiences of patients whose voices stayed the same after their surgery as well as the frequency and types of voice changes that were experienced.
