ThyCa Moves its 2022 Annual Conference to a Virtual Meeting Due to COVID-19

04/2022

ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc. (ThyCa) has decided to hold its 25th Annual International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference on September 16-18, 2022 virtually because of the continuing challenges of COVID-19. The virtual meeting will feature the educational and support sessions on treatment and research regarding thyroid cancer care that you have come to expect from us.

“Deciding to hold the conference virtually again was frustrating,” said Gary Bloom, ThyCa executive director. "I know how much we all want to reconnect in-person. However, we are considering the safety and health of our attendees and presenters. Additionally, we know a lot of people are feeling financial pressures at this time so avoiding the costs of travel will help many of our members,” he added.

Building on the success of and knowledge gained from two virtual conferences, ThyCa is poised to offer the benefits of the conference to people worldwide who wouldn’t be able to participate in-person. “We will miss the camaraderie of our in-person interactions and look forward to future meetings and events when the risk to our health will no longer be a top priority,” Bloom concluded.
