Meets: ThyCa Long Island meets the second Sunday of each month, except May, from 1:00 to 3:00 PM.  Please call to confirm meetings, especially if you drive a long distance.

Special Events: The guest speaker at our March 10 meeting is Justin Yozawitz, MD.

Dr. Yozawitz is a fellowship trained endocrine surgeon who received his medical degree from State University of New York Upstate Medical University. He specializes in minimally invasive surgery of the thyroid, parathyroid, and adrenal glands. He is a member of the American Association of Endocrine Surgeons, the American Thyroid Association, and the American College of Surgeons. Dr. Yozawitz is a diplomat of the American Board of Surgery. Dr. Yozawitz is affiliated with Long Island Jewish Medical Center and North Shore University Hospital.

On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 19-21, 2018, you are cordially invited to the 21st International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference, in Oak Lawn (Chicago), Illinois, USA.  This event is sponsored by ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc.

Dozens of leading thyroid cancer specialists from around the country will speak and answer questions about thyroid cancer care and research.  The weekend also features speakers and roundtables on skills for coping with thyroid cancer.  This educational and supportive conference is for people at all phases of testing, treatment, and follow-up for thyroid cancer, as well as caregivers, friends, health care professionals, and anyone interested in thyroid cancer. Scholarships to cover the registration fee are available on request.  Walk-in attendees are welcome.
