|Special Events:||The guest speaker at our October 11 meeting will be Dr. Robert Garfinkel, a chiropractor from Bellmore, Long Island. He will discuss the effects on the cervical spine before, during, and after a thyroidectomy and the relationship it has on the person's nerves and organs. Afterwards, Dr. Garfinkel will be happy to answer any questions.
The guest speaker at our November 8 meeting will be David Myssiorek, MD, otolaryngologist from New York University Clinical Cancer Center.
On Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, October 2-4, 2015, you are cordially invited to the 18th International Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Conference, at the Sheraton Westport Chalet Hotel in St. Louis, MO, USA. This event is sponsored by ThyCa: Thyroid Cancer Survivors' Association, Inc.
Dozens of leading thyroid cancer specialists from around the country will speak and answer questions about thyroid cancer care and research. The weekend also features speakers and roundtables on skills for coping with thyroid cancer. This educational and supportive conference is for people at all phases of testing, treatment, and follow-up for thyroid cancer, as well as caregivers, friends, health care professionals, and anyone interested in thyroid cancer. Scholarships to cover the registration fee are available on request. Walk-in attendees are welcome.
